About the Event
Parenting today is a wonderfully complicated adventure that requires a steadfast commitment to understanding the world through the lens of our children. It’s a very different lens than the one we grew up with. Their lens includes easy access to technology and engagement on multiple social media platforms that for many has become a fixture of their daily social lives and for many a mainstay of their social engagement.
The conundrum we face as parents is how to provide guardrails and guidance practically, emotionally, and psychologically while balancing the need for them to develop as morally responsible stewards of their freedom in an independent but safe way.
Join us for a deep dive into the pros and cons for our teens of the most popular social media platforms. We will run a live demonstration of one of them and unpack recent data on social media’s impact on mental heath. Together, we will discuss strategies to curate our own approach to social media engagement so that our children see us as working with them and not against them.
