Dear Willows community,
We are saddened to announce the passing of Mrs. Molly Kurt, Willows Board Member and past parent (Caroline ‘22). Molly went home to heaven on Friday, August 19th after a long battle with cancer.
Molly’s funeral mass took place on 11 am Wednesday, August 24th at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Chicago.
Molly impacted Willows in countless ways.
Molly joined the Willows Board in 2019. As a board member, she brought her expertise in employment law and passion for living our mission and Catholic identity with integrity and excellence. As a colleague, she was always ready to answer her phone for quick questions and in-depth committee work.
Molly alongside her husband, John, was devoted to the mission of Willows and our feeder and brother schools – Embers and Northridge. They were continually looking for ways to strengthen and enrich the entire community.
As a volunteer, she and John spearheaded the establishment of the Willows family picnic, she led the committee that researched our new uniform, and she procured the beautiful planters in front of the school.
As a parent, Molly went above and beyond as an advocate for her daughter and other students, as a friend to other parents, and as a self-starting recruiter working the crowd at social events to bring new families to Willows.
As a woman, Molly embodied what Willows strives for. She was a passionate advocate for and an example of authentic strength and femininity in her vocation as a wife, mother, friend, and professional. She will be greatly missed.
Please continue to keep the Kurt family in your prayers.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jaime Vasquez
