Some of our fall athletic teams have ended while others are preparing for their play-offs to begin. Below is a summary of our athletics accomplishments so far this season.
HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY WINS ISL CHAMPIONSHIP
Our varsity cross country team won the ISL Conference Championship for the first time in the school’s history! In addition, four of our runners earned ISL All-Conference awards: Francoise Lechner (’23), Lucy James (’23), Izzy Avila (’23), and Jane Potter (’25). The team had three first place finishes at the Lake Forest Academy invite.
MIDDLE SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES STRONG
Middle school cross country participated in four meets at Resurrection High School as a returning member of the City Suburban Catholic Conference (CSCC). The 6th grade team finished with one 1st place finish, two 2nd place finishes, and one 3rd place finish. The 7th/8th grade team finished with two 1st place finishes and two 2nd place finishes. 8th grader Stephanie Tirpak won all four races!
TENNIS TEAM FINISHES SECOND SEASON
The tennis team continued into their second year as a program at Willows Academy with a full varsity schedule (10 matches – 2 wins and 8 losses). They participated in the highly competitive ISL conference meet and finished in 10th place. At the IHSA Sectional Meet singles player Hannah Kuhlman (‘25), had a bye for round 1, won on round 2 and advanced to round 3!
HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL GOING STRONG
Varsity finished with a 7-2 record in the ISL Conference, with two big conference wins over Latin & Regina! JV finished with a 5-4 record in the ISL Conference. Many of our home games had themes to increase crowd attendance- Pink Out, Pajama Pants Theme, Beach Party & 70’s Disco!
MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL GROWING
This year, our middle school volleyball teams joined the Northwest Catholic Conference (NWCC) league. Currently, 6th grade has 2 wins and 4 losses; 7th grade has 5 wins and 1 loss; 8th grade has 3 wins and 3 losses.
