Keynote Speaker: Erika Bachiochi

Willows Academy was proud to have welcomed keynote speaker Erika Bachiochi for “The Rights of Women” as part of our Raising Great Girls series.

The modern women’s movement’s promise of autonomy comes up short – devaluing marriage, parenting, and, ultimately, the distinct experience and the immeasurable contribution of women to society. In this Willows Academy keynote, Erika Bachiochi will discuss a lost vision of women’s rights centered on responsibilities to God, self, family, and community. She will offer a guide for how we might better value the culturally essential work of the home and promote authentic personal and political freedom for women and men alike.

Erika Bachiochi is a legal scholar specializing in Equal Protection jurisprudence, feminist legal theory, Catholic social teaching, and sexual ethics. She is a fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, DC, a Senior Fellow at the Abigail Adams Institute in Cambridge where she founded and directs the Wollstonecraft Project, MA, and a 2018 visiting scholar at Harvard Law School. Erika is the author of numerous essays and 3 books, including The Rights of Women: Reclaiming a Lost Vision. Erika lives in the Boston area with her husband and seven children.
