History and English Teacher:

Duties: Teach one section of 11th grade AP US History, one section of 11th grade Honors US History, and two sections of 9th grade Introduction to Literary Studies. Emphasis is on helping students improve their skills of critical reading, analytical thinking, and effective writingThe teacher must capture a rigorous approach to learning History and English in support of a college prep mission.

Qualifications: According to its mission and vision, Willows Academy is an all-female teaching and learning environment. The applicant must hold at least a bachelor’s degree. It is preferred that she be certified (any state), but it is not required. Applicants should have a passion for the education of young women and model the teachings of the Catholic faith in her daily life and actions. Applicants should be comfortable interacting with parents as the primary educators of their children. Applicants will be chosen based on their in-depth understanding and commitment to the school’s vision and mission; ability to work closely and communicate successfully with individual students/parents/coworkers; on the degree of their subject matter expertise; and on the breadth and flexibility of their instructional strategies.

 

High School Spanish Teacher:

Duties: Teach Spanish I through IV at high school level. Emphasis is on preparing students to be successful as a modern language learner; Reading, writing, listening comprehension and speaking the Spanish language is integral to the curriculum in addition to expanding one’s knowledge of the culture. The teacher must capture this rigorous approach to learning a world language in support of a college prep mission.

Athletic Director:

Duties: 

  • Fulfills administrative duties relative to the total athletic program.
  • Works in collaboration with the school’s Administrative Team.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction of the athletic program as an extension of the school’s overall mission.
  • Supervises and evaluates all Willows Academy coaches.
  • Parent and Player Surveys
  • Pre and Postseason Meetings
  • Written Evaluations.
  • Helps develop and communicate the school’s vision of athletics and presents a positive approach when dealing with parents, media, and other outside groups.
  • Supervises, supports and evaluates all members of the Athletic Department staff.
  • Hires and assigns supervision and game worker personnel for home events
  • Plans and conducts orientation programs for all coaches.
  • Interviews all new candidates for coaching positions and offers recommendations to the Executive Director regarding the offering of contracts.
  • Prepares the annual budget for athletics and submits the budget for approval. Receives approval from the Executive Director for all major non-budgeted expenditures.
  • Represents the Athletic Department at conferences, state and institutional meetings related to athletics.
  • Contracts and serves as host to all game officials.
  • Communicates the weekly eligibility report to students and coaches in consultation with the Principal.
  • Weekly email notifications sent to players, parents, counselors, and coaches
  • Reviews and annually updates all printed material presented by the athletic department.
  • Administers the summer sports camps.
  • Fulfills leadership duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Assists the Administration in promoting a program of good conduct and sportsmanship on the part of all athletes and coaches, especially the professional growth of coaches.
  • Resolves conflicts within the athletic department.
  • Assumes other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Conducts an annual review of all equipment and determines the needs for replacement or repair.
  • Prepare the master schedules for every sports team.

Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Athletic Administration, Physical Education or a related discipline.
  • Type 75 Administrative Certificate preferred but not required.
  • Previous coaching experience, preferably as a head coach
  • Previous coaching experience in a Catholic high school preferred
  • Previous athletic administrative experience preferred, but not required
